TEXTILEREI

WHY TEXTILEREI?

The TEXTILEREI is dedicated to create tailored conditions for fashion, textile and lifestyle startups.

Mannheim is an attractive location for the fashion industry. Labels like Schumacher, von Jungfeld, Goldgarn, Trauth or Phyne operate from here. In this creative environment the TEXTILEREI offers ideal conditions for beginners. The centrally located start-up center in the Mannheim city center advises, connects and supports – from the first vision to marketability.

COMMUNITY

It could hardly be more centrally located. Just a few minutes' walk from Mannheim's Planken shopping mile, trends are developed in the TEXTILEREI. The competence center for the fashion and textile industry is located in a renovated baroque building and has ten offices and two workshops for rent. Founders have access to a high-quality industrial machinery park.

Those who get started here benefit from targeted sales promotion, regional and international networks and support in marketing and PR. The in-house startup community has an extensive range of services - from advice and further training to seminars, workshops and lectures.

The TEXTILEREI was opened in 2015 after an extensive renovation. The baroque house in C4, which is now a listed building, was built in 1725. Franz Anton von Heiligenstein, the personal surgeon of Princess Elisabeth Auguste, once lived here, and later BASF founder Friedrich Engelhorn moved in. A design highlight of the TEXTILEREI is the striking wrought-iron stair railing, which had been walled up for a long time and was discovered by chance during renovation work.

TEXTILEREI SHOP

Innovative and individual lifestyle products are created in the TEXTILEREI. The designers focus on quality and sustainability, unique pieces, prototypes and small series are lovingly handmade in the in-house workshops. The TEXTILEREI shop is used as a presentation and sales area – the portfolio ranges from  jewellery and accessories to basics including shirts, sweaters and complete collections.

Opening hours: Thursday and Friday, 10-15
